Harold Town Conservation Area

Covid-19 Update - April 21, 2020

The Otonabee Region Conservation Authority is continuing to allow trail use at Harold Town C.A., however property maintenance by ORCA staff and the PTA is not being permitted. The main double track/ Face trail loop is open, while all other trails were closed in early March due to wet spring conditions. We are getting close to the point where these other trails would be opened, however with no volunteer work permitted on the property, we are unable to do the minimum spring work to ensure the other trails are safe to use. These other trails will remain officially closed until further notice.

The hub of mountain biking in the Peterborough area, this property owned by ORCA, on Old Norwood Road, is a popular singletrack trail system enjoyed by mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, dog walkers, snowshoers and other non motorized users.

Through our partnership with ORCA, we aim to 'carry the torch' passed on by earlier trailbuilders who have done a tremendous amount of work over the past 10+ years to develop this extensive trail system. We will be organizing monthly group trail build and maintenance sessions in 2019, to ensure the trails stay in great shape for the various user types.

Stay tuned to our Facebook Page for announcements on how you can become involved.
